Go crazy looking for them.

Ignore this part. That's my foot going into my mouth.

Edit: Foot goes where?! I clearly don't think about co-op.

IIRC, 9* is possible on The Seeker on coop, but other than that, no song in any of the games so far can get 9* or 10*.

Short answer is no.

I did. Read the comment for The Seeker on XBOX 360 Co-op.

EDIT: Ninja'd.

Technically, 6x (and not necessarily 9*) is possible (and has been achieved, obviously) on The Seeker. The 6+* thing in single play comes from the extrapolation of the difference between 4* (2.0x) and 5* (2.8x for anything that isn't GH1, where it's 3.0x), and since those haven't been determined/proved yet in Co-op, we don't know if 6x = 9* for Co-op, and can't say for sure until 4* and 5* cut-offs (and more to the point, base scores) are proven, if at all.

And, more importantly, it's impossible to calculate cutoffs as there have been people who got 5 stars with fewer points than a 4 star score.

If there was a 9 or 10 star, what color would the stars be?

the 9 star is purple, as is the $100 donor ranking on SH. I guess 10 stars would be silver, a la the $1000 donor star

Yes.

Also, if a 9-star is only theoretically possible in Co-op, there's no way in HELL a 10-star is possible.

In theory you could actually get as high as 11.5 stars with an 8X average multiplier. This multiplier is actually not physically possible, but with a highly contrived chart you can get arbitrarily close to it. Suppose, for example, that you have a very simplistic chart consisting of 29 single notes containing four star power phrases, followed by eight measures of rapid-strumming five-note chords at an extremely low BPM. Making up some numbers, let's say that they're 10 NPS chords at 1 BPM. This works out to 600 chords per beat, which is 2400 chords per measure in 4/4 time (if you wanted to increase the number of beats per measure, you could get even more chords under star power). This means we have 19,200 chords over those eight measures, all of which we can therefore hit under star power. Let's do some math:

Base score: (29 single notes X 50 points) + (19,200 five-note chords X 250 points) = 4,801,450

Total score (with an FC): (1X multiplier X 9 single notes X 50 points) + (2X multiplier X 10 single notes X 50 points) + (3X multiplier X 10 single notes X 50 points) + (8X multiplier X 19,200 five-note chords X 250 points) = 38,402,950

So the average multiplier is 38,402,950/4,801,450 = 7.998X, which is almost 11.5 stars.

Of course, all of this is extremely contrived. I'd be surprised if we ever see a nine-star in single player under the current system.

What he just said...!?

And anyway, I remember asking this same question a couple months ago.
Perhaps this should be answered in the "New to Scorehero? Read Here" forum.

All the information you need to know about the extended scoring system is here.

As for a song with a possible 9* or 10*, I'll say unlikely but I can see a 9*able song someday.

Beats me?

Posts like that are pointless. It gives no answers. It does not help at all. If you don't have anything to say that will add to the conversation or answer the question... ... ... then kindly shut the fuck up.

On topic: No single player 9 or 10 stars are possible (as of now), as it would take an incredibly SP heavy or very low BPM chord fest to achieve that.
