Has anyone 5 starred it? Is it possible? I just got this score.

That's 980,545 and good for 3rd place on Xbox Live. I only missed 3 damn notes and it's still a 4 star. What gives? Any thoughts?

3 notes?!

Seriously?!?!

Wow, Konami needs to fix this shit. I suggest contacting customer support, and keep your proof ready.

In past DDR situations, the guys over their are hard to persuade.

Oh and, It'd be funny if you'd aquire a FC on the song and it still gives ya four star rating!

I believe on Npeaen's Spoonman video he didn't miss much notes but he only got three stars.

He missed 31 notes and didn't activate SP very well. I'll give you that it was better than a 3 star performance, though. However, I only have a 4 star on Spoonman, having missed only 8 notes and scoring 250,000 more points than on his 3 star performance. The star system in this game leaves much to be desired.

Well, a few things that could have knocked you down to four stars.
1)Atmosphere activation/hoarding
2&3)How close together were your misses and good hits? For example, if you happened to miss three notes close together, that would knock you down to a 2x multiplier. Then if you had the majority of your goods with a low multiplier that would shave your score down greatly. If you were to keep a 2x for thirty notes you would get 9,000 pts. instead of 36,000. Now if you happened to get really unlucky and hit 50 notes at 2x & 18 at 3x you would be looking at 23,100 rather than 81,600 a difference of 58,500 pts.
4)Did you have any over strums?

I don't know how the stars are determined in this game, but I'm just trying to throw out explinations here.

1) Activated immediately every time at x8.
2&3) My misses were all at once, but that shouldn't have hurt my score that badly. I was back to a x8 multiplier in no time. Also, at the beginning of the song I was up to x8 multiplier in under 75 notes or so.
4) No overstrums.

I'd like to find out how the star system works. There are probably a lot of smart guys (ajanata, maybe?) working on it right now. Its complicated nature coupled with the complete lack of popularity of the game won't help our cause, though.

Sorry to necro this, but I have something that I think is interesting.

My first run a magic man I got 3 stars, mainly due to not paying attention and staying at ~3x multiplier for the end half of that huge solo. The score was something like 750k.

My second run, a while later, was an fc, 5 stars, etc. My score was 900k.

Is it just me, or is that not a lot of difference at all?

How do you guys remember these things?

Those videos are long deleted thanks to the removal of my first account.

And yeah, I think it took me until about halfway through the game to actually understand the games SP system.
