Sweet, Parabola! One of my favorites. This will be a good week.

WOOO! I finally have a reason to work on B.Y.O.B. Maybe I can pull out a half decent score.

Well I got my 1st GH:WT - Hard FC this week!
Hail To The Freaks

It wasn't really to hard, I doubt the score is all that great compared to several of the others, but an FC anyways!

I also had a 100% on Float On, with a damn overstrum... ugh... oh well.

Playing through that Tool song was almost painful... so long... and boring to play. Then there is the lame "venue" that you are forced to use.

I don't want to play a Tool song on GH:WT ever again after that.

Not saying I don't like Tool... I just don't like being forced to look at the lame ass "venue" while playing 3 of their just ok songs.

Trapped Under Ice was an improvement for me at least too.

Looks like you better suck it up, b/c we have another one Week 4

Good to know you do things that you have no idea what they do. I hope for humanity's sake, you never work in a nuclear testing facility.

Ugh... Yeah I saw that.

At least it is the Tool song I have done the best at (and the easiest one?).

I'm having a hard time playing songs in practice mode. For some bizarre reason, there's huge lag (similar to standard HDTV lag. I do have an HDTV, but it works well with games and I have very little lag in all games) when I'm practicing, but there's none whatsoever when playing the standard way. Anyone else notice this?

Wow, after seeing everyone's Everlong scores, I AM SO GLAD I went back and got the FC

I only played the song 3 times too. 1st one, I missed like 5 easy notes... 2nd play through was a 100% w/Overstrum
My 3rd try was the FC
(just my 3rd Hard FC too! It helps I really like that song)

My 100% Overstrum score was like 9k less points, and I would ended up like 21st I think instead of 12th.

I might have been able to do even better too, had I actually sat down and pathed the song a little... Oh well, still my best placement yet for a league score!

Damn...landed in Piso's bracket.

Ortiz...tell me a little bit more about ticks or maybe point me to a FAQ on here. I believe I'm ready for the advanced class (lol)

from another forum:

It's points from held notes I believe. So dropping sustains in a run could be described as losing ticks. Crazy people also squeeze ticks to up their scores.

2nd update, from yet another forum:

The points you get during a held note. A lot of first place scores are gotten by only one "tick" which are almost always in incriments of 4 due to the 4x multiplier. This is also what people mean when they say they "dropped ticks." If you've ever tried to squeeze the last activation on School's Out, you'll realize why getting 3 ticks on it seems unreal.

Another thing to worry about while I'm trying to have fun jamming out. I play with a pick (which sometimes gets a bit edgy on long fast streams) so I get something of value out of my guitar hero time for my right hand. I don't like to squeeze because thats literally playing a note too early and/or too late (which my drummer would chastise me for in real life), and now I have ticks to irritate me.

Well, unless you plan on squeezing hard, then ticks aren't going to be too important. Just hold the sustains as long as you can, and try not to drop them. I'm not really qualified to give a lesson anyway, I call I can do is make paths .

Anyway, my Wii is broken, so whoever faces me gets an easy win most likely. I'm calling Nintendo today (warrenty is up) to see if I could do anything to fix it. But unless I can end up at my friends house, with a camera, after the song for next round is announced, and have a path ready, then I'm most likely out. I did so good this season too .

Sorry to hear about your Wii, Ortiz...sounds like an opportunity to pick up a 360

Looks like Eddaket will also get an easy win because I suck when it comes to whammying - esp. on that second activation. IMO, the WT guitar works much better for whammy but the rounded edge on the wedge doesn't work well for those of us who use a pick.

strattkatt, if you were going for the path that was in the SP Discussion Thread, that second activation is impossible. You can't get a full bar from that phrase.

I kinda figured that out after a couple of runs. I ended up going with a degraded star path of 2-2-1-1 with activations on 9th GY-7th GY-GR-4th B.
I would love to know the "answer" if you feel charitable.

Anyway, Congratulations. You'll give Piso a much better challenge than I could have.

I used a path that was like....

http://www.slowhero.com/ghwt/guitar/hard/reedthroughlabor.blank.png

2 - 1st GY in m25
2(+1) - 2nd O in m62
1 - 5th YO in m92
1(+1) - 1st R in m116

It looks like you are activating anywhere from 1 to 4 beats ahead of me (and probably ending around the same place). You're getting alot more SP out of your SG whammy than I can a WT whammy i.e. you're good + I suck = about 4,000 points lol. Thanks for the reply.

Hey, kick Piso's ass will ya?
