It's not that they think that they can make as much money as GH/RB. The way that the US consumer economy works, is that they don't need to create dedicated fans, they just need one hundreth of the people who play GH/RB to try this game. If they can get that, they make a ton of money, and can retire. Don't count on seeing Popstar Guitar II this time next year. GH and RB have a different philosophy, and that is to make a quality product that will keep people coming back for the annual sequels (and biannual expansions), and DLC.

I MIGHT actually buy this. I like alternative, so the song choice is ok, but the controllers are hideous and only have 4 frets.

Why do people even bother? GH/RB will always completely own the industry of music gaming, it's not like FPS shooters where releasing one always has the chance of selling good, it's just stupid to release a music rhythm game like this. I mean come on, even Frets on Fire looked better than this...
