I havent thought of an idea yet but i am deffinetly painting my x-plorer. It has to be the ugliest color right now. lol
Its not like the SG where as the SG was the shiny coat of plastic and you needed to sand it down for a good paint job. The X-plorer is a rough plastic and i just dont know what to do.
What steps should I do?
Also if you have any cool ideas, I take contributions =] |

If it's as rough as the red SG's, you should be fine just painting it I think. Krylon Fusion paint works good. _________________

I did a blue paint job on one of the Red SG's, which has the same type of surface as the X-plorer. It came out fine with a few layers of Krylon Fusion. I'm going to do the same to one of my X-Plorers shortly. _________________

ok so just painting about 3 light layers should be fine. I just really dont want the end product to be sticky. A sticky guitar would be bad, the guitar already has its flaws.
Should I sand the buttons? Im pretty sure i should right?
If I choose to paint the pick guard also should i sand that? |
