I was just thinking about this yesterday! Glad to see the thread was bumped, by no less than the first One FC'er as well! Crazy, having been 12 years...We're reaching points where newer players are nearly as old as this insane day lol. Welp, i'll be sure to visit this thread for year 13 when it comes around next year  Also yes, Chris coming back is a huge treat, so glad to see him back!

Right, I forgot that Undead was the first one to FC One! Weren't there many other people chasing that FC at that time, since alt tapping became famous as the way to FC FSA? Those are just war stories now...
I remember feeling a strange kind of pride about a Wii player snatching that FC, since I started playing Guitar Hero on Wii as well... In the end it's all superstition, really. "He plays on Wii and he can do it. Therefore, maybe I can as well, one day."
It makes me feel a bit silly about my devotion to GH over the years, even though I wouldn't trade it.

The race was between Undead and Jprez, and I think most people were expecting Jprez to get it first since he had been working on it longer and was closest for a long time. But he ended up getting it just a few hours later, so the first two FCs were both on 9/9/8!

Alt-tapping was just becoming more and more explored territory at that time, I'm not even sure how Jadon actually did FSA at the time but I believe he wasn't fully alt-tapping it. I came up with the method on my side independently and the same was elaborated simultaneously by baseballkid and strikebowler, and possibly a few others. Being the first person to get the FC however, while not having reFCed it even once, still feels fantastic and a little bit strange after 12 years.

Today is the 13-year anniversary so I thought I'd check the forums and boy do I feel nostalgic. Makes me want to get back to the ItO grind, but with work, bouldering and the future wife, it's not easy to find some time to squeeze GH into my responsible adult life.

I was off the wagon for a while but been playing pretty consistently since 2020. Not as much as I used to of course, like Undead I got too many real life responsibilities these days, lol.
