|
|
I know how the RB side has a list like this. I would love to make one for expert songs too but there's way too many at the moment, mostly DLC. So I'm just doing the X+ ones for now. Also I can't find the charts on youtube for some of the DLC so I'm not adding that all yet.
Songs FC'd since this list started:
Fight Fire With Fire - FC'd by Ralph55472 on 1/9/10
21st Century Schizoid Man - FC'd by XxbluedevilzxX on 1/13/10
Hang Em High - FC'd by Sulfurus on 1/28/10
Loss of Control - FC'd by Ralph/Sevla54 on 2/25/10
Fade to Black - FC'd by strikebowler585 on 2/28/10
Drummers in this list:
Lars Ulrich: 3 songs
Andy Gentile: 3 songs
Alex Van Halen: 2 songs
Dave Lombardo: 2 songs
Charlie Benante: 1 song
James Sullivan (RIP): 1 song
Vinnie Paul: 1 song
Jason Bittner: 1 song
Dave Mackintosh: 1 song
Gene Hoglan: 1 song
Fredrik Andersson: 1 song
Scott Travis: 1 song
Vinnie Colaiuta: 1 song (thanks CrimsonBlaziken for the name)
Bruce Weitz: 1 song (thanks kire for the name)
20. Cowboys From Hell
Chart - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOMEVXf8aHU
A lot of this song is very easy and slow on drums. The tricky parts are the random bursts of double bass. Still probably the easiest unfc'd x+ song in smash hits.
19. Still I Rise
Chart - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRVNnikpeFs
By far the easiest of this DLC pack. There's a good amount of double bass in this song and a couple tricky bits, but nothing too insane. Definitely can be done.
18. The Shortest Straw
Chart - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBqsBHKxW-s
This song has a good amount of double bass, and is also very long. It has nothing insanely hard, but is still a tough fc.
17. Caught in a Mosh
Chart - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2CqTdCBwkQ
The hard part: 0:47
This song is just a crazy all around chart. Most all of it is difficult. There's a lot of random crazy fills. Good luck with this. That nonsense at the beginning is really hard to hit too.
16. Battery
Chart - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKs1O-d-O18
This song is a test of endurance. There's one section of real fast double bass, and the rest of the song barely ever lets up. No real insane parts, but good luck not missing a note throughout.
15. Dueling Banjos
Chart - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7c8w0jC6SQY
The hard part: The beginning, the end, and that weird fill that comes up several times
Despite about a minute of playing no drums at all, this song wastes no time catching up in difficulty. The intro to this song is crazy hard. Most of the song is pretty manageable, but there's one fill that comes up a few times. It's very tricky. To hit everything this chart has to offer in one run proves to be very difficult.
14. Hot For Teacher
Chart - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0mgHIu6d_Y
The hard part - Beginning, and 4:35 nonsense
Hot For Teacher of course starts out with a crazy drum intro. As crazy as it is, it is definitely hittable. The song has twice as much bass as the expert chart. Then, to top it all off, the end of the song is a real mess. Good luck.
13. Dyer's Eve
Chart - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WL3B_9K-ZZo
Hard part: Anything with double bass, no one insane part
This song is just a test of endurance, mostly with the ridiculous double bass. It doesn't have any hard rolls or fills or solos or anything. It's just a matter of getting through the whole song without missing a note, which is insanely hard. Basically a harder Battery.
12. Raining Blood
Chart - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5-4n0VQ0Os
The hard part: The nonsense starting at 3:13
Despite this being Slayer, this chart is actually relatively tame...until the end. The Flood, the hardest part on guitar, is insane on drums, mostly because it doesn't make any sense. Good luck FCing this. The drummer in the video who 5*d the song almost failed at that part.
11. I'm the One
Chart - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z258Ss25HgI
The hard part: 1:48 nonsense, 3:41 insanity, lots of crazy rolls, oh yeah, and the rest of the song
Just when you thought Hot For Teacher was insane, here's its big brother. Still un fc'd on guitar, this will remain un fc'd on drums for a VERY long time. The entire song consists of double kicks much like HFT X+, mixed in with rolls that rival War Ensemble's. Then, there's the end. Have fun with that.
10. Laser Cannon Deth Sentence
Chart - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZFzH_SY-_o
The hard part: 4:01 to the end
When announced, it was possible that this could be the hardest X+ drum chart ever. Unfortunately, Neversoft decided to only chart half the kicks even on X+. It would probably be near impossible to pass if they had charted all of it. Nevertheless, this is still a very difficult fc. The last 30 seconds of the song is a ridiculous test of endurance. Remember Visions and that ridiculous part that made it a near impossible fc? This song has a lot of that, which although slower, goes on for a LOT longer, including the end which is more than 20 seconds of this pattern, all on top of double bass. Then, when your hands are about to fall off, you get a crazy roll spanning 3 drums. If anyone has the endurance to do this, they are insane. Ironically, the easiest part of this song is the bass.
9. Through the Fire and Flames
Chart - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkW3uEL89MQ
The hard part: Everything, but 6:48 (red snake on guitar) stands out
Everyone knew TTFAF was going to have an insane drum chart, and expert plus just makes it that much harder. This chart is mostly this difficult just because it's the same tiring pattern for 7 minutes, mixing in random fills and rolls all over the place. It would take an unbelievable amount of skill and endurance to FC this, but it's a much easier technical fc than the rest of these songs.
8. Twilight of the Thunder God
Chart - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ab7ZqZyEhVg
You thought TTFAF and LCDS required endurance? Try this. This song is half as long as TTFAF but almost the entire song is FAST double bass. Like, Dyers Eve speed. As far as insane parts go, this song doesn't have any that really stick out, but how is it even possible for anyone to make it through this whole song without missing SOMEWHERE?
7. Beast and the Harlot
Chart - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9d7OJog9ItI&
The hard part: Insane drum solo at 3:47
Another drum chart that lived up to its expectation of being insane. This song has a ton of double bass, but is pretty manageable outside of one ridiculous part. That, of course, is the drum solo. Like with Raining Blood, the drummer almost fails despite getting 97%. It's like the Fast Solo A of drumming. RIP James Sullivan.
6. Painkiller
Chart - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMDeA-X742o
The hard part: Insanity beginning at 6:36 and then resuming at around 6:56
I'm debating whether or not this is harder than Anything or not. Tough to say. The ENTIRE song is slow double bass, with it occasionally speeding up during the choruses. The first chorus ends with a very fast burst of bass notes. The bass never lets up. The rest of the song is much of the same...until the absolute insanity that is that drum fill and then the end solo charted in its fullest unlike RB2. Good luck fcing up to the crazy fill, hitting the fill, and then hitting the ridiculous solo.
5. Guilty Pleasures
Chart - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIRiBIgDjYg
The hard parts: 3:51, 4:05, and 4:46, just to name a few
One of the Neversoft songs released as DLC for GH5, this song has some seriously insane drums. The entire chart is similar to Anything, and almost as hard, and has the same drummer. Expect rolls and random nonsense on top of double bass, along with three crazy fills similar to the near-end one in Anything. At over five minutes long, this is one hell of an impressive FC if anyone can get it.
4. From the Blue/Point of No Return/T.T.R.T.S.
Chart - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmL5wiNiT40
The hard part: Stuff like 3:50, then about 10:00 in to the end
When I first heard about this song, I expected Anything only 3 times longer. This song is not anywhere near as hard as Anything overall. Most of it is pretty manageable. The problem is, it's TEN MINUTES LONG. Comparable to the Camera Eye in Rock Band, but instead of 11 minutes of Neil Peart, you have 10 minutes of Andy Gentile. Like TCE, this song has a ridiculous ending that has likely never been fc'd. That ending isn't as insane as the ending of Painkiller or BATH's solo, but after 10 minutes holding an fc, hitting that ending is gonna be difficult. This won't come off this list anytime soon.
3. Anything
Chart - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwMhZg5dG9M
The hard parts: Mostly the insanity at 4:12, but there's also 1:35, 3:02, and random insanely fast double bass bursts
This song is absolutely insane on expert drums, so when it was available in GH5 as well, expert plus only made it crazier. This song is filled with double bass (the part at the beginning has rolls at the same time), random hard fills, and almost the entire chart is hard. To top it off, the absolute nonsense at 4:12 looks impossible to hit. Despite all this, it's still easier than the rest of these songs.
2. Scatterbrain
Chart - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fKl6f8F0bM&
The hard part: Nonsense starting at 4:25, and the whole song in general
Scatterbrain is the perfect name for this song. It makes absolutely no sense. Half the drumming in this song has seemingly no pattern. It is unbearably confusing and ridiculous. Basically 21st Century Schizoid Man on steroids and every illegal drug in existence. And then, to top it all off, there's the ridiculous ending. If anyone fc's this ever I will personally go to their house and give them a cookie.
1. War Ensemble
Chart - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edhLu4huXOM
The hard parts: Rolls and fills at 0:14, 0:23, 0:32, 0:42, 0:51, 1:11, 1:20, 1:39, 1:48, 2:18, 2:29, 2:39, 2:50, 3:02, 3:10, 3:21, 3:39, 3:50, 4:10, 4:19, 4:47, 4:54, and the rest of the song
Imagine Dyer's Eve's chart. Now throw in TWENTY-TWO rolls and fills of varying difficulties. That's War Ensemble. Good luck hitting every single one of those, all the double bass (including the "gallop" sections), and everything else in a 5 minute song. This is madness. Easier technical FC maybe than some other stuff on the list, but overall hardest chart, even beats out Anything, and thus the hardest FC on this list. _________________

I'd honestly say War Ensemble is the hardest. I haven't seen anyone get anything close to an FC (those fills are maddening plus the absolute insanity that is the normal beats).
I've gotten a 97% on Anything, not even close to an FC but better than I've ever done on War Ensemble. |

As far as I know, Fade to Black hasn't been done because of the two sets of reds at 6:50 in the video you linked. _________________

Really? Because personally I think that double bass in swing time is actually pretty hard. :P (Hot for Teacher) _________________

I think you vastly underestimate the precision needed for dyers eve to FC it, number 9 seems a little under valued considering it has some of the fastest double bass in all of the GH's, and its the most frequent. |

9th seems pretty low, and i want to say the same thing, but just look at whats in front of it. War Ensemble hasnt even been FC'd on regular expert yet let alone X+. scatterbrain, painkiller, BatH, and all the others...this whole list from 10 and down is straight ridiculous.
although, i would move battery in front of CiaM. if you can get past the drumbreaker with an FC, you're pretty golden to finish out the song. and since thats the intro its not really frustrating because if you miss there oh well, you only wasted a minute, as opposed to something like that being at the very end. |

It's not that hard. I'm sure one of the top drummers could EASILY get it, they just haven't purchased it. |

I'm just wondering, should this topic have different sections for 4 lane and 5 lane X+ un-FC'd songs? They obviously play differently, and what is done on one may not be done on the other. _________________
