Anyone else having problems hitting the two symbals between a pair of notes while playing? The only way I found to keep a streak while activating is while there's a break, or when the beat is very slow, and that is far from optimal activation. I might be missing something here since I found no other topics regarding this situation. As for information, I can play most of hard songs, and low tier expert songs. |

I've sometimes been able to hit the orange at the same time a yellow was playing and get it, but not always.
I blame most of the 4 stars on my slightly faulty red pad though. |

Activating when a lone yellow is charted works best for me. Trying to activate on an orange note, whether or not any other notes are charted with it, breaks my combo without starting SP more than half the time, I'd say. I'm new to drumming so I won't swear it's the game and not me subtly messing up the timing or something but the problem seems pretty consistent so far. |

Like if the upcoming notes are Red+Bass, you can simply hit Yellow+Orange right over one of those Red+Bass chords (as in, don't even hit bass or red) and you won't break your combo during it OR the next note (depending on how fast the song is). |
agreed. whenever i want to activate i just act like say a yellow hit is a yellow and orange hit and activate. THe key is just to stay on beat and you keep your rhythm _________________

The problem with my set is that the orange is very faulty, so often times when I try to turn on SP it only reconizes the yellow and breaks my combo _________________

Yea I have a pretty faulty kit and sometimes I have to sit there and smack orange and yellow until it activates for a couple seconds. I tried my friends RB1 kit yesterday and it is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. The response was so good and everything worked so well. I even FCed a random song. Every time I activated SP it responded quickly and worked the way it was supposed to work. I just feel like I wasted so much money on this new kit because the original RB1 kit is working so much better. I just hope after I can turn the sensitivity up it will work way better. _________________

Hmm, I didn't know that, DBV. I knew it widened the window right when you activated SP, but I didn't know you could actually miss notes with no penalty (other than not getting score or additional streak for those notes, I'm assuming).
I've found that as far as activating on a lone Y or O note (or YP or OP chord), that you have to hit whichever of the two notes that is not charted slightly before the charted note to avoid breaking streak. Not quite sure why it's this way, but I would break streak half the time before I consciously tried doing it this way. Hitting the charted note before the noncharted one doesn't seem to work for me. _________________

Sorry that it's completely off topic, but this thread gave me a mental image of me trying to activate SP by headbutting the cymbals, falling off my chair, and destroying my kit. Sorry, i just felt like sharing that. _________________

that way, we know if it works, and we get a giggle
well minus the breaking of kit, but you get me
i'm a RB1 kit drummer, but i haven't started yet, so i've been wondering how this would all work _________________
