How are you possibly bored, Krim? I mean, you COULD just go play GH some more.

Well, I had a kick-ass run of CFH yesterday, and whenever I have a kick-ass run, my skills for the rest of the day start to crap out, so I wasn't playing GH.

You hit the nail on the head Cat.

I really didn't care for Splinter at all, Americana has my all time favorite Offspring song though, "The kids aren't alright".

The first two albums are the best all around though, I wish they would re-release and re-master them, the recording quality wasn't very good, seeing as they were done poorly almost 20 years ago.

Offsprings next album "Be Like Busted"

I have to admit I do like Busted. Even though they were pop orientated they still played there own instruments, gave good interviews and deserved the praise they got.

I was quite disappointed they split up actually, as it would have been nice to see Busted go "rockier". Charlies new band Lonestar suck big style. Everyone said he was the only one with real talent, but it doesnt' show with Lonestar. Matt's solo stuff is far too pop and is utter dross anyway. Jame's band Son of Dork is the only one I really like, it's basically Busted Mk2

Eh, I don't listen to them. I guess they're okay, for another pop/punk yadda yadda band.

They are better on average than most pop/punk bands just for their history; all the good songs from the past. Offspring has "D.U.I", "Beheaded", "Come Out And Play", "Meaning of Life", and so many more classics to their name. Can Fallout Boy or The Starting Line say that?

They're pop/punk. Along the same lines as Blink 182 or Screeching Weasel. Call it alternative if you want, but it's pop/punk.

*= Don't get me wrong, Smash is one of the best punk records of the '90s. That was practically the coolest cassette you could have back then at my age, and it's still a good listen now. My mom took it from me though at age 11 when she overheard the title track on my dual-deck boombox. Ixnay on the Hombre was also solid, but I can't figure out what happened after that. Americana is trash, everything I heard on the radio subsequently was cringe-worthy and I'll let the 'Original Prankster' lyrics below speak for themselves. Oh, how absurd amounts of money and record contracts can destroy good bands!

Simply horrible...

"You know it smells like s*** / Goddamn
Tag team the double header / Son of Sam
Fire always makes it better / Navigate
With style and aplomb / Cause wherever you're at
That's the tip you's on"

Yeah, I didn't have any idea what the hell they're talking about in those lyrics. Must have been a time of heavy drugs and alcohol.

They have had a few post-Ixnay good songs:

Pretty Fly
Kids Arn't Alright
End Of the Line
Americana
Want You Bad

So erm 4. Americana was ace at the time, I remember liking it loads. However it hasn't really lasted the test of time as you can now look back and see that most of it is mediocre at best.

I liked their new album, definitely a different feel to it. Then again I like Rhapsody and GWAR, so I have... a different taste of music.

With that, Ixnay is the best album IMO.
