As a software developer, I know exactly how projects can start out rather small and simple and grow into these monstrosities of complicated code as more is added. And redesigning and starting from scratch is the only viable option. As much as this site has grown that is going to be quite the undertaking.
So, good luck guys! I'll be anxiously awaiting Scorehero 2.0.

The whole site revamp doesn't surprise me all that much considering how enormous and popular the site has become in such a relatively short period of time. Good luck to you programmers, you're probably going to need it. Happy new years Scorehero. Hope it's a good one. |

Wow! Good luck with these ambitious plans for the new year! As a member that's been here pretty much from the beginning, I know already how far this site and community has come. Can't wait to see where we go from here! _________________

These are looking real good, hope they can all benefit the already solid SH groundwork that is already developed.
All the best for 2009.

This is some very exciting news to start off the year
Even though it won't actually be ready for a while (and there will no doubt be many posts with "soooooooooooon") I was very happy to hear everything in that first post. I'm really looking forward to a lot of the possible and/or almost definite new features that will be coming with this, especially the customized homepage. Good luck to everyone working on this! |

I'm looking forward to the improvements to come for this site. I really appreciate al lof the work JCirri and the staff have done over the years for this site. I wish I could help, but sadly I do not know the slightest bit about programming. Anyway, Happy New Year Scorehero! |

I wholeheartedly support the redesign, especially the user interface changes. Activision didn't pay attention to the user interface when designing World Tour, and scorehero could use some user interface design as well.
In addition to source control and documentation, I would recommend picking a specific software development process. I have had success with lean/agile methods, and would recommend that once the initial framework has been built.
As for Web 2.0, how much more Web 2.0 can ScoreHero get? The entire site is Web 2.0, with a forum, a wiki, and user uploaded scores... Could you be more specific about what you will be adding? _________________
