Since the scores are not any different playing on a RB set (in GH 5 ONLY) why are there two different categories?????

Just wondering cause hardly anyone uploads scores done on a RB kit.

I'm prety sure someone else asked this question in a different place (if it wasn't you that is...)

The answer is no. Post scores in the correct place

EDIT: LOL didn't read the post very well...

I think they just keep it separate because that's how they've done it.

I don't think he was asking if he could post his scores in the wrong category, I think he was just asking why the two are still separate.

Even though it looks like the scores are the same, the orange note is now charted to green on RB sets which means that optimal scores could be different or more difficult on one set. (At least that's my impression, someone who is more competitive with scores might be able to confirm this.) Even if they have the same optimals, there is still a difficulty difference due to the number of pads and their positioning.

The two instruments are quite different due to the different layouts. If you try to play Brianstorm on a RB2 kit without rearranging the pads... well good fucking luck. So, due to the differences in the kits, it isn't really fair to compare the two. I won't say which is harder because I believe it depends on which type of motion you show a proclivity towards - lateral or vertical. As a drumliner from high school who played tenors for two years, I do better with lateral movements than vertical ones, hence the RB set scores.

Key differences:
The GH kit has an extra pad
The RB kit has more lateral movement required
On certain charts the RB kit can me more difficult (e.g. Brianstrorm) because of all the crossovers
On certain charts the GH kit is more difficult because maybe a complicated pattern on 4 pads with the GH kit gets reduced to just 3 on the RB kit

Nevertheless, I'd still like to have a leaderboard with the two sets combined.
