So yeah, I can FC every tom part of Brianstorm, yet the only thing that keeps me from doing so is that I keep clipping the edge of my yellow pad whenever I go from red back to green with my right hand. Any suggestions besides "don't clip the yellow pad"?

RB drums or WT drums?

Memorize the pattern, and look at your hands. That should give you a bit more control on which tom you're hitting. That's all I can think of.

speakin of Brianstorm, can anyone suggest a way to do the tom part?
I'm not sure which hand to use for each drum!
And as for your problem, if you're using WT drums try sitting a bit further back from the kit and you won't be as close to the yellow lol...i dunno
I you're using RB drums I have no clue how to help though

The method of choice involves hitting the reds with your right hand. The sticking is actually pretty straightforward.

GHWT drums, also I kinda worked it out pretty well, but still occasionally hit the bottom of the yellow pad.

Anyway, for those who are still wondering how to hit the pattern, it's just a RLRL whacking. The pattern goes something like this (ignore colors, stick with pattern :P)

(1) (2) (3)

and so on, repeating with a low tom instead of the first orange.

Easiest way to do this is keep your left hand alternating hits with your right. The only pad the left hand plays is the blue pad. The first note is hit with your right hand for each little pause in the section.

First section, hit the cymbal with right hand, easy enough :P

Second section, RLR with right hitting green and red, while left hits blue inbetween.

Third section, RLRLRLRLRLRL. Right hits green, left hits blue, right hits blue, left hits blue, right hits green, left hits blue, right hits red, left hits blue, right hits green, left hits blue, left hits green.

Repeat! except sometimes the last green is an orange, then R hits orange instead of green. >.>

pretty much the same with me, except instead of hitting my sticks i go up too far and whack the bottom of my yeller.

all you gotta do is focus :P gotta move the stick high, far, and quickly to whack the red

Actually, a handy tip I recently found was to anchor the elbow to the side of your body and only move your forearms, similar to doing bicep curls, except this motion is sideways. This'll prevent you from moving your right arm further than it needs to go. I FC the beginning every time with 2 SPs and 60k points

It's a mess to play on an RB kit, but fairly straight-forward (although not easy) on the GH 5-lane kit.

Reserve your left hand exclusively for the blue tom and then use your right hand for red, additional blue hits, green tom and orange. Also, don't be afraid to twist your torso around as you reach between the red and green pads. Start the pattern with your right hand.

Knowing the rhythm and pattern will help you get around the kit faster since you won't be so focused on the television.
