I don't care how Influential/innovative/whatever other characteristics are used to judge this, how can ABBA be considered Rock n Roll?
(And before pointing me back at the list of pop artists already in; previous mistakes don't excuse future ones) |
ABBA are a Pop Rock group. Most of their songs have some Rock in them.
If a song was just Piano and Vocals, that would be considered Pop, but not Pop Rock. _________________

Rush became eligible at least 10 years ago right? That they aren't in there still baffles me. Is there some technicality that is holding them out? |
EDIT: Apparently, the guys over at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame thinks that progressive rock does not belong there. |

Rush, quite frankly, aren't that great imo. Sure, they are influential and yes, they are talented, but they personally do absolutely nothing for me. I find them boring and overrated.
But yeah, I agree with they guy who said the HOF list means absolutely nothing. All it is is a popularity thing. |

No you're not being rude, and I agree. The name really should be the American Music Hall of Fame, or something to with the RIAA. Beside that, If you ever get a chance to go, It's awesome, albeit I've only been to the annex in SOHO, but that was a great time, especially Yoko's Lennon Exhibit, which was very emotional. The exhibit is limited run, and I'm not sure if it's still open.
BTW Andami, love your Avatar. Vault-Boy is the greatest mascot ever _________________

Yeah, I can't wrap my head around this whole deal, but that's the reason I found online. Official or not, it appeared in every article I found about this. _________________

Personally I think that ABBA has enough Rock in the majority of their songs to make it into the HoF, plus they are, in my opinion, one of the bands of all time; not to mention their commercial success is *almost* unparalleled (I believe they will be the fourth highest selling Artists in it). _________________
