Slayer. The first band that got me into Thrash Metal, and I loved it. Tom Araya is so passionate about the topics of his music, and for me, his lyrics are awesome. The aggression just really hits me in a place that gets me every time.
I've got every album, flags, t-shirts, posters. My favourite album is Seasons in the Abyss. Easily.
The only band that comes close is probably Machine Head, or Incubus. (Over all their albums). _________________

Has to be Guns N' Roses
Their music was just so gritty, aggressive and powerful. Appetite was the 1st album I ever bought and was so epic. Quickly picked up the rest and although some hate it, I love their ballad-esque songs, the music and song writing was great .
Second fave would have to be Beatles, I find every song of theirs amazing. Also in love with Zeppelin/Pink Floyd and was brought up on Lighthouse Family and Sting's Solo work all so amazing and soothing _________________

Those are 2 pretty different groups to say the least haha. |
Indeed. I'm just that kind of person. I also forgot to mention The Beatles, but you all probably knew that. _________________

I can't name a number one, but I can spout off the bands that on top.
Children of Bodom- The gritty, heavy, loud sound that these guys generate is unmatched in my eyes. Tie My Rope and Towards Dead End are two of my favorite songs to listen to.
Behemoth- When I want something heavy, this is where I turn. These guys know how to rock the fuck out.
Paramore- If you asked me two weeks ago, I'd have said Paramore was my favorite band, but I started to listen to metal again. The way these guys write music and perform is outstanding, and Haily Williams is my favorite vocalist ever.
Dance Gavin Dance- I don't know why, I just love these guys.
Silversun Pickups- The sound is unmatchable. The feeling I get when I listen to them is incredible, and I hope that one day I can see them live. _________________

No love for Schuldiner?
My number one favorite band of all time is Death, then after that it would probably Atheist, King Diamond and Decrepit Birth. _________________

For me its Lostprophets, I've loved pretty much everything they've done and I've been listening to them since I was 14 (so, going on about 7 years). Their second album Start Something is ranked as my all time favourate album, with their fourth album The Betrayed also up in the top 5.
If I had to rank their albums I'd probably go:
1. Start Something
2. The Betrayed
3. Liberation Transmittion
4. thefakesoundofprogress
They're an amazing band to see live (I've managed to catch them a few times now, and I'm seeing them again in a week or so) putting on some great banter and an amazing show. _________________

The Living End
No question, no arguments, no debate. The Living End are my all time favourite band. They have been my favourite band for about 4 years now. These guys are only the second band that I considered my favourite. Green Day was the first band that I ever got into, but when I discovered The Living End, they soon took over. I discovered this band when a song of theirs was played on radio, this song is entitled: Wake Up
I fell in love with that song and listened to it constantly, this led me to buy their newest album at the time entitled 'State Of Emergency'. I have listened to that album repeatedly at home, all the time, it was my favourite album. I loved them so much that I joined the Band's forums, and then bought the rest of their albums. First it was their Self Titled album, which apparently is their all time greatest, and then I bought Modern Artillery and their Singles Collection, to this day, Modern Artillery is my favourite album of all time. The songs on Modern Artillery are very easy to listen to, they are all very different. You have some heavy fast stuff such as Hold Up and End Of The World and some nice music to sing along to such as Putting You Down and Maitland Street.
I have since bought most of their singles and their latest album, entitled White Noise. I love The Living End so much, I can not go a day without listening to them for at least an hour. I go to every gig of theirs that I can possibly go to. And next time they announce shows, I plan on flying interstate to see them, because they live in Melbourne and obviously play their the most, and I live in perth
The Living End were the reason why I bought Guitar Hero. When Carry Me Home was announced to be on the game, I flipped out, because even though that song was really hard on real guitar, it was very obscure, I thought that if a song by The Living End was going to be on the game, their most popular song would, which eventually did make it to a Guitar Hero game, Prisoner of Society.
My obsession for this band has gotten me to a point where I actually got an errection the last time I saw them on stage. I have a feeling that I would have to change my pants if I ever get to meet them. I am so hoping I do though. Many times my friends have asked me if I would turn gay for any members of the band. Chris Cheney is a great guitarist, very talented and his solos are amongst the best I've listened to.
If you guy's ever heard End Of The World, , [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHy3enmgwTI]There Is No Radio and above all, Lone Ranger, you'd probably agree with me. _________________

I'll do a top 3:
1. Foo Fighters - flawless, so far they haven't released a song i wouldn't like; also lovable members - especially Dave
2. Blink-182 - diversity and variety at its best; some tracks are good to jam to, some make you laugh, some make you cry...
3. System of a Down - one of the bands i've listened to the longest, many memories connected to SOAD
Oh and @up, the lyrics from "End Of The World" by The Living End are among my all-time favorites. |

My favorite group changes from time to time.
It used to be Pink Floyd.
Then it was Frank Zappa and the Mothers.
At this moment in time my favorite band is Dr Feelgood. |
