my personal favorite is nirvana. yes, i think they are the greatest band ever because they are my favorite. but i know it is probably the beatles. nirvana only had 3 studio albums. the legacy they have for the short amount of time they were around is incredible. maybe album-for-album, they are a better band, but again, they only had 3 albums.
also, they had some of the greatest concerts ever (mtv unplugged, reading 1992, live in rio, etc.) _________________

Yes, one band may be the most influential and the most popular (The Beatles is an obvious candidate for that) but does that equal greatest? Does ANYTHING in music equal greatest? No. |
Art is by no means only subjective -- it has many objective qualities. Without objective qualities, art criticism wouldn't exist. _________________
