Straight RL for me, crossover for the blue without a pedal note. _________________

Accent a note if you start to lose beat whiling doing the double stroke method, it works wonders. Try accenting the R between the double blues that way the pattern becomes
L L R L R L L R
keep practicing the LLRLRLL and you'll throw those first and last double strokes in subconsciously, the beat just becomes RLRL all the way through. _________________

I just play it with left hand always red, right hand always blue. You'll get the beat down if you practice it enough, alternate stick methods require a lot of crossing which gets confusing. _________________

I just do it intuitively. RLRLLRLL. On my kit RLRRLRRL would've been an option too, though. Just practise and you'll be able to do the double strokes with left. _________________

I actually prefer crossing:
RLRLRLRL
It's actually surprisingly consistent once you get the rhythm down - two right hand blue hits, one left cross, repeat. I can easily 100% it this way. _________________

Crossing is the way it was intended to be played. On a real drum kit, it would be easier for you to hit the tom with your left hand than it is on the GH drum set. It is pretty awkward to cross over and hit blue though, I'm not a fan of this drum break. |

The way it was intended to be played on a real kit is totally irrelevant, though. I doubt Dave Lombardo uses the perfect (GH) sticking everytime he performs War Ensemble live
Anyway. It's just a matter of practising for me. I often start out and think it's easy, then halfway my mind wanders off and I start making stupid mistakes :P that's the annoying part about this. You have to stay focused.
Unless you don't play it RLRLLRLL, of course. I can imagine this being a piece of cake if you're good at crossovers. _________________

how is it intended to be played crossed? if anything it would be easier on real drums because the snare would have more rebound allowing for easier rebound? _________________
