Now that the PS3 has been hacked, how long until we can create custom ISO's of PS3 GH games? _________________

As soon as you write your own program and release it. _________________

It's not that we couldn't PLAY the customs on the PS3, it's that we don't know how to modify the content with our own audio and charts. _________________

I guess I shouldn't have been so general with my question. My "real" question is... "is anyone working on a program to insert custom songs into PS3 GH games?". I've been out of the scene for awhile, so I'm just trying to catch up a little. _________________

No, but hacked PS3s can read games from hard drives. _________________

Now that ps3's can load backups off hard drives with the jailbreak hack I'm sure it won't be long. _________________

Let me remind all of you, the reason why we don't have PS3 customs is because nobody has bothered to try to figure it out. It's not because we can't run our custom disks.
If you're desperate to play custom songs on a console, the Wii and Playstation 2 are your best bet. _________________

I would take that, too.

I'm sure no-one tried to figure it out because we could not run custom discs/backups.
I've already got a PS2 set up for custom GH playing, but it would certainly be nice to have a few custom GH ISOs sitting on my PS3 HDD, ready to play (and not have to worry about swap magic, etc). _________________

Yep, until we know what the contents of the .pak files look like and what format the audio is encoded in not much else can happen. |

If you want to play customs without burning a disc, why not convert your ISO to the USBadvance format on a flash drive (using USBUtil), and use OpenPS2Loader 0.7 to run it off the flash drive on either a PS2 or PS3.
You just have to run the loader (which is in .ELF format) by using the SMBOOT feature in Swap Magic 3.8, just load that in your system and run it (name the ELF 'SMBOOT1' to load it through one of the 4 buttons).
As far as I know OpenPS2Loader supports Guitar Hero III and Guitar Hero II so customs on either game will work. _________________
