How do you 6-star and 7-star a song? Also, how do I get my scores loaded up to this site? |

to put in your scores, go to manage scores, select the difficulty, go to whichever song you want to put the score in, click on insert, and then put your score, note streak and percentage in (you only need to put a score in to subit a song).
to know how to get a 6 or 7 star look here, and just get a higher score than the cut-off. (they're the expert cut-offs btw)
hope that helps you. |

Basically, 6 and 7 star rankings (and the theoretically possible 8 star ranking, although it is not possible in any GH1 song) are a feature of the scorekeeping system of this site, made possible by the fact that the userbase here has managed to determine the exact "base score" for each song, by finding the exact cutoffs for 4 stars and 5 stars as SThorpe mentioned above.
Since 4 star is 2x the base score, and 5 star is 3x the base score, it is possible to extend the system so that 4x the base score becomes 6 stars, and 5x the base score becomes 7 stars, etc. The game, of course, will still only display any score above 3x the base score as 5 stars, but the additional breakdowns give users of this site something extra to shoot for, and a bit more in depth knowledge of how they're doing in comparison to other players, and to the best (and sometimes optimal or close to it) scores.

English translation: 5 stars wasn't enough of a measurement for us. We needed to further distinguish the barely-5-star people from the completely-stomping-the-score-lists people. |

That all makes sense! Thanks very much!
BTW, after reading this site yesterday, I went home last night and finally beat CFH, The Breaking Wheel, and Get Ready 2 Rokk on Expert. I 3-starred all of them, but I finally beat them.
Beating CFH was awesome! I never thought I would beat it. And getting the Battle Axe guitar was sweet. I will never master all these songs like some people, but who cares. I'm enjoying this game every time I play.
Bring on Guitar Hero 2!!!! |

Grats. I was completely blown away when I finally managed to beat Bark at the Moon. And you might be able to some day...not on every song, but at least on the first 3 tiers. |

Until you realize Symphony of Destruction is the last song in the 3rd tier... _________________

3-Star is the highest score you can get with a x1.
4-Star is the highest score you can get with a x2.
5-Star is the highest score you can get with a x3.
I can only assume that
6-Star is the highest with a x4 and 7-Star is x5 _________________
