After all the time I've spent and the songs I've created I decided I want an easier and more accurate method to creating GH2 custom songs. The more complicated the song, the more complicated the tabbing/synching is. Wouldn't it be nice if Guitar Pro had the option to add a .wav/.mp3 track? It seems like if you had the song playing at the exact time the chart started playing tabbing could be done flawlessly by ear. I've tried many programs that offer this functionality but none have a real strong tabbing engine. Anvil studio makes this possible but without a tablature it's near impossible to accurately place notes, even with piano roll. I guess what I was wondering is if anybody knows of any programs/plugins that could achieve something as this for me? Maybe we can get an editing option in the latest version of GHex!?!? haha would be nice
Anyways, I just wanted to thank everybody for all the great information and possibilities that have been discussed on this forum. It's amazing really.

You can add wave tracks with MIDI sequencers like MM and Sonar (Anvil free version only let you put 1min of song).

You want a tab with the real song notes, so you can accurately put GH notes? If that's what you want, Guitar Pro has an Export > MIDI function, so you can open your tabs in MM ;)

Sonar is working surprisingly well how I needed it to. The only problem that I forsee in the future is hammer ons/pull off in more difficult songs. I'm not exactly sure how it works in guitar hero 2...I assumed if I were to be using Guitar Pro I would just add a hammer on but with Sonar I do not see that option, I may be overlooking it. Is there any other method that I'm not aware to add hammer ons and pulloffs when needed?

A note is considered a hammer-on or pull-off if it occurs within 160 MIDI ticks from the start of a previous note, and neither of them being a chord or the same fret or the first note in the song.
So it's not something you can decide manually.

Even better, that's perfect, thanks for the good news. This is working out much better once you figure out what notes on the piano roll are what strings/frets really.

hmm now I'm getting the "You Rock" a couple seconds before the song begins after loading the new ISO onto my ps2 using the sonar method...what would I need to do to keep this from happening?

After you've finished making the MID load it back into ANVIL and change the [end] in the event list to whatever your endtime would be.
